It can be very easy to end up with a lot of files saved here there and everywhere. We are often in such a rush, that you can easily save a file somewhere very quickly and have a hard time finding it again. Especially, if when you first download or save something, you simply allow it to go into the ‘recently downloaded’ or an automatically created folder. However, getting yourself organised does not have to be a difficult task, it only takes a few simple steps.

Start with a simple organisation system that will include only a few main folders and then subfolders within the main folders. You can start sorting files into the main folders that help group similar items together then proceed to sort those files further into the more specific subfolders. To reduce clutter, be sure to delete the old and unused files that you really do not need to hang on to. These will simply add to the clutter and take up memory.

Stay on top of your organisation once you have created these new folders. Every time that you save something new, go ahead and save it to the corresponding folder. It doesn’t take very much extra time to save it to the correct place from the get go and that will help keep you organised.

Online scams seem to grow alarmingly by the day, so it is ever more important to be very cautious. Anytime you receive an unexpected email or text message, you should be very careful not to click any links that may be attached. Scammers are quite good at making their messages appear like they are from legitimate organisations, so you must be very wary and vigilant in checking things about before interacting with a link.

You should always look at an email address carefully and look for any misspellings, or indicators of a fake account. Phone numbers can be spoofed so even if the number does look legitimate, you should always double check by other means, without clicking a link. Never give your details out without verifying who these details are going out to, by checking it out online or giving the organisation a call, via a number you get from their verified website.

If you are ever in doubt of a text or email being a scam, you should always contact the company directly.

Whatever your company does, it creates data. That data is either your end product, the information you need to produce that product, or the information you need to provide your company’s services. If you lose it, you could lose your company.

There are many things that can immediately cause data loss: hardware failure, corrupted files, virus, malware, accidental deletions, saving over a file, or any other accidents. There is little you can do to prevent your computers from giving up the ghost, except to have replacement parts available. There is, however, much you can do to prevent—and even eliminate—data loss. Here are five tips for data backup.
